Product information

community support is at the heart of byfreer's ethos, and we take pride in collaborating with exceptional local, small-scale makers and manufacturers. Fostering close relationships with our makers and suppliers is integral to how we operate. All our pieces are designed locally in our Paddington studio, with 80-90% of our garments made in Sydney. Many of these are made in our own production facility in Marrickville. This proximity to our community ensures that each and every byfreer piece upholds the quality and ethos integral to our label; slow and responsible fashion.

75% of our garments are Australian made. since Australia does not generally produce knitwear (due to a lack of manufacturing resources), or have specific manufacturing capabilities like that we need for our laminated garments, we work closely with two producers in Shanghai who have the capacity and high standards; both in their manufacturing and their working conditions, to which we uphold ourselves to.
